Buhari, Tinubu move against Udom, PDP

* Want A’Ibom guber election cancelled
* PDP alleges Presidency’s influence on Judges

BY  KENNETH  JUDE

While Governor  Udom Emmanuel has visibly struck a good working relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari, indications have emerged that the seeming flowery relationship with the number one citizen of the country is merely on the surface and nothing more. This more THE INK gathered over the weekend is due to clandestine and strategic moves by the President and other APC top shots in the country to influence the governorship election Tribunal sitting in Abuja between Obong Umana Okon Umana and Deacon Udom Emmanuel in favour of the APC candidate.

A’Ibom PDP: Before the bubble bursts

Obong Paul Ekpo

It is no longer news that the much anticipated 2015 general elections have come and gone with the victorious team jubilating ecstatically to the envy of the loser. It is a common knowledge that in Nigeria like in most African countries, there is no place for political losers as they are treated like pariahs  where nobody is supposed to even greet  talk to.  * Meets ex Gov. Attah, explains grouse with Akwa Ibom Governor

The nation’s President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had met exclusively with Obong Attah in Abuja to discuss on matters bothering the country, the PDP and Akwa Ibom state. The meeting which was held behind closed doors was at the instance of the President who is said to have prevailed on Obong Attah not to dump the PDP which he helped to birthed as a founding father. The President is said to have also sought the support of Obong Attah in his leadership of the country and his future political moves.

Sources say Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had to institute the meeting with the ex Akwa Ibom Governor with the wake of the recent and massive decampment of politicians from the party and also with the information that the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), were putting Obong Attah under pressure to dump the Umbrella party for them. Although those who are close to Attah said the former Akwa Ibom Governor was not considering joining the APC, political pundits in the corridors of Aso Rock Villa explained to our reporter in Abuja that the President of the country is not leaving anything to chance in his quest to unite every member of the party.
