Mbo Chairman commends Udom over oriental energy housing project

The chairman Mbo local government council in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Mfon Edet Bassey has attributed the sitting of  the recently commissioned hundred unit housing estate project by Oriental Energy Limited to the conducive security situation and investment friendly environment created by the present administration of Deacon Udom Emmanuel.

The chairman said that the emphasis of the present government policies to drive visible impact of oil and gas operations to the host communities have sent strong signals to companies to shift physical development to their areas of operations.

He further added that it is only when companies relate cordially with government and their host communities that they will implement cooperate social responsibility project like the hundred unit housing estate by Oriental Energy Limited sited in the local government area.


Hon. Mfon Bassey, who spoke after the commissioning of the project by the Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Onofiok Luke who represented the state governor, commended the company for living up to its responsibilities and assured the chairman and management of the company of the cooperation of the people of the local government area to ensure its operations goes on smoothly.

He noted that when the housing project is fully completed, it will impact positively on the social-economic life of the people of the area. The project which he said will attract other complementary infrastructures to the area as well as promote internally generated revenue is capable of transforming Mbo local government to a metropolitan city. 

He thanked the chiefs and people of the host community for relating peacefully with prospective investors coming into Mbo local government area.
