2019: Mboho Akwa Afaha endorses Gov. Udom

A socio-cultural organization in the State,Mboho Akwa Afaha has passed vote of confidence on Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to contest for a second term in 2019. The Group took the decision recently during a meeting at the headquarters of Ibeno LGA, Mkpanak.

In a motion moved by a former Vice Chairman of Ukanafun LGA, Hon. AniefiokMfiokho and seconded by Princess Sarah Ndiana-AbasiAkpan, members of Mboho Akwa Afaha unanimously agreed that in view of the man his second term bid is an “Afaha Project 2019”, which they have to effectively mobilize and sensitize the people to achieve the goal. 

The International President of Mboho Akwa Afaha, AbomAniekanAkpan stated that members of Akwa MbohoAfaha is over 640 villages across the state have no option than to support their kinsman to win the second term election in 2019, pointing out that Afaha people are determined to give unflinching support to Governor Emmanuel who is one of their own.
The International President who reminded members of the reception of the Governor by the Mboho on June 1, 2017 at Nigerian Christian Institute, Uyocalled on members to unite and work on the pet project which is already a done deal. He explained that Afaha people who are strategic and critical stakeholders in the 2019 guberproject should sacrifice every ounce of their sweatto support their kindred in Eket to lead the state for 8years.

The Chairman, State Council of Chiefs and Paramount Ruler of Ibeno, HRM EffiongAchianga who hosted members of the organization in his palace at Mkpanak emphasized that Afaha people should support their kinsman as a gesture of love to the state chief executive. 

The Ibenomonarch called for greater cooperation among Afaha people, describing the unity to Afaha nation as a priceless bond which is rooted in the common history of the people. He charged his kith and kin in the state to feel protected and project a common cause to stimulate a unique sense of brotherliness and nationalism amongAfahapeople. EdidemAchianga advised members of Mboho Akwa Afaha to be progressive-minded and rekindle the spirit of love and unity which Afaha people are noted for. 

The event was graced by traditional rulers, women wing of Mboho Akwa Afaha and some stakeholders in Afahaland.
