PDP chieftains pass vote of confidence on Gov Udom, Akpabio

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in ward 5, Northern Ukanafun Clan in Ukanafun LGA have passed vote of confidence on Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel. The 7-point communique issued at the end 2016 PDP Stakeholders get-together at Nsekhewas signed on behalf of party faithfuls by Chief SenasUkpanah (OFR), Elder Imoh A. Emeh, DrUdeme Daniel Akpan, Hon. Monday OkonUdoh and Mr. Emmanuel EventusKoka. The people of ward 5 support the PDP beyond 2019 and therefore encourages the governor to please accept to continue in office as Governor as “we will massively and unequivocally support and vote for this visionary leader, pragmatic gentleman, highly resourceful manager and result-oriented professional for a second tenure in office.

They stressed that people of ward5 remain very appreciative of the governor’s benevolence in appointing two of his aides and a member of the Technical Committee on the realization of Ibom Deep Sea Port and Ibom Industrial City projects from the ward, which, according to communique has bolstered positively and engendered development in the ward.

They emphasized that the ward is committed to supporting good governance and sustainable development in Akwa Ibom State even as the people of the ward have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and leader of the party for his unwavering commitment towards consolidating on his 5-point development agenda, for sustaining superior performance and industrialization of Akwa Ibom State.


The ward appreciates the magnanimity of the governor’s wife, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel on the various life-touching programmes under her pet project FEYREP which widows, orphans, destitute, youths and the less privileged have benefitted. The party faithful pointed out that as a granddaughter of the pioneer paramount ruler of Ukanafun whose noble ideas and historic initiatives contributed in no small measure towards the creation of present-day Akwa Ibom State, the people of ward 5 sees the first lady as “our daughter who is on a mission to bettering the lives of her people by bringing holistic development to Ukanafun.

The people also acknowledged with pride, the bold step, outstanding performance and achievements of Senator GodswillAkpabio, the senate minority leader, saying that even as a first timer in the red chamber of the National Assembly, and therefore passed vote of confidence on him for his effective representation of IkotEkpene senatorial district and resolved to support him for a second term in 2019.
However, the people regretted the exclusion of ward 5 in the constitution of the Ukanafun Local Government Transition Committee and appealed to Governor Emmanuel to look into the issue and correct the anomaly in the next available opportunity.
