AKYP prays for peace in A’Ibom

Akwa Ibom State is  blessed with youths of virtue, who have at different times and at their different positions strived to work with the governor in order to transform the state to greatness just as the DAKKADA creed says.

In order to achieve these, Akwa Ibom Youths embarked on a prayer which is usually held monthly. They have never failed to observe this monthly prayer summit which was this month held at the Wondrous Church Of Jesus Christ, Ata Obio Akpa in Oruk Anam L G A on Sunday with the theme “Declare What You See”.

The service which lasted for some hours featured praise and worship, congregational hymns, choir renditions, prayer for the state as well as speeches by some dignitaries who attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Governor Udom Emmanuel who was represented by the special Advicer, Bureau of Labour and Productivity, Mr Eyinna Ekpenyong advised the youths to shun vices that can lead to problems, admonishing them to go to school or engaged in the acquisition programmes which the governor has introduced in the state. He also commended the youths for their monthly prayer summit for the government of the state.


Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on youth matters, Mr Aniefiok Iwa-udofia, who facilitated the programme commended the youths for keying into his vision for the government of the state and continuing in his strides.  

Addressing the large congregation, Evang. Ubong Ituen, Coordinator, Akwa Ibom Youth Prays (AKYP) appreciated GOD for making the day a success and advised the youths to declare what they want and good things for the state in order to make it a better place. He also appreciated the governor for his unreserved support for the program, and giving them the opportunity to serve in his capacity.

In his sermon, the General Overseer of the wondrous church of Jesus Christ , Apostle Sabbath Dan enjoined the Akwa Ibom Youths to imbibe the spirit of love for the state and continually pray for the state. Apostle Sabbath Idiong who read from the Holy Bible in Acts of the Apostle 13v 22-23 on the theme “ who is your role model” charged the youths to always identify with the governor and his wife and  to make them their role model hinting that they are perfect examples.

Present at the event were the Transition Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Prince Ubong Idiong, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-ministerial, Prince Sampson Idiong and the church National Secretary, Mr. Nkereuwem Idiong.

High point of the event were donations by dignitaries and presentation of gift to the state Governor by the General Overseer of the church.
