Last Wednesday was a day that will not be forgotten in the history of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area as the crème-de-la-crème gathered to identify with the Member representing Mkapt Enin State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. (Engr.) Otobong Ndem as he celebrated the Christmas season with his people. The event which took place in Ikot Akata, the home town of the lawmaker witnessed a mammoth crowd which was more than the constituency briefing.
Speaking on the occasion, the immediate past Deputy Governor of the state, Lady (Barr) Valerie Ebe said she was convinced that Ho. Otobong Ndem will make the difference among others in Mkpat Enin. She said Otobong Ndem’s ability to collapse all factions and faceless organisations which have been used for blackmail and petitions is what marvels her. The Ex Deputy Governor who described Engr. Otobong Ndem as her son who is humble in both arts and science, saluted his ability to unite Mkpat Enin people. Barr Valerie, while calling for team work among politicians in the area as brothers, said that Hon. Otobong has made her to stand tall through his performance in both the Floor of the House and Constituency projects.
The immediate past Deputy Governor while calling on Mkpat Enin people to see themselves as one, solicited for total support for Governor Udom Emmanuel in all ramifications, saying that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s victory is guaranteed by Mkpat Enin people. She maintained that the All Progressives Congress has no member in Mkpat Enin that those who pretend to be members are just there to get a token from the party.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Rural Development, Barr Ekong Sampson, thanked Hon. Otobong Ndem for connecting Mkpat Enin to the government and for also being effective on the Floor of the House which he said culminated to numerous achievements witnessed in the area.
He said that Mkpat Enin peoples have always been effective in the State House as good materials. Barr Ekong Sampson who said with the closeness of Udom to Mkpat Enin political heavyweights like Otobong Ndem, Noble Lady Valerie Ebe
