Support and more support trails Mrs. Emmanuel’s LGA’S visit

In continuation of her Local Government Areas visitation, the wife of Akwa Ibom Governor Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel during the week visited Etim Ekpo, Ukanafun and Oruk Anam local government areas where she appreciated the women for their unflinching support towards the administration of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor. Mrs. Emmanuel who also used the occasion to share in the joy of the season with the women donated cash and gift items to them saying it is just a token from her heart for the yuletide. 

Speaking at the respective local government areas, the first lady Mrs. Emmanuel appreciated the women for their support and loyalty during and after the elections, stating that she embarked on the visit to say thank you to the women for the mandate which they freely gave the Governor at the April polls.
The First Lady pointed out that the PDP Government under the leadership of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor remain committed to empowering the women in the state stating that within this period in office, the Governor has initiated life touching projects  across the state which she said when completed will boost their economic livelihood. She noted that in order to ensure that women are economically dependent; the Governor in his magnanimity gave out soft loans to farmers and traders to help boost their inputs, hinting that very soon another set of women will benefit from the loan scheme.

Welcoming the first lady to their respective local government areas, the wife of Etim Ekpo transition chairman, Mrs. Udeme Godson Uwah, her Oruk Anam counterpart, Mrs. Iniobong Idiong and the wife of the commissioner for Education Mrs. Unyime Akpan in appreciation thanked the governor’s wife for visiting their constituencies this season, and prayed that God reward her with the grace to continue in her good works. They asserted that the Governor, within this period in office has done lot in-terms of wealth creation, women empowerment and infrastructure. While pledging their loyalty and support to the Governor and wife, they noted that irrespective of propaganda by the opposition in the state, they will work towards ensuring that the divine mandate of the Governor is sustained.

In their Goodwill messages the wife of the commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Anne Enoidem, PDP woman leader Etim Ekpo, Mrs. Magdalene Udom, wife of member representing Ukanafun in the state House of Assembly, Mrs. Otobong Jonathan and other political stakeholders of the area all pledged their support to the administration of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor saying he has performed creditably well.  They thanked the governor’s wife for the donations made to the women and promised to reciprocate her kind gesture. Others who spoke were the member representing Oruk Anam state constituency in Akwa Ibom state House Assembly, Sir Udo Kierian Akpan and the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Mathew Ekaette who all pledged their total support to the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel. 

The state first lady Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel also visited Oro nation where the women of the area came out in their number to receive her and as well declare their total support to the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor.

Speaking in Mbo, Urueoffong/Oruku, Okobo, Udung Uko and Oron local government areas respectively, Mrs. Emmanuel appreciated the women for voting en-mass for the Governor at the April polls saying she came to say thank you for their unwavering support during and after the elections, noting that with Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor, the women of the area will be economically empowered. She donated cash and gift items to the women, saying it is a token from her to them in the spirit of Christmas.

The Governor’s wife said the industrialization drive of the Governor is poised to create wealth for all including the women, and charged them not to relent in their support for the government. She urged the women to remain resolute on the mandate which they gave the Governor, adding that he is working assiduously to ensure that every Akwa Ibom woman is economic dependent.
 
Earlier In their remarks, the transition chairman of Urueoffong/Oruku, Mrs. Precious Selong, the wife of transition chairman of Mbo, Mrs. Josephine Etuk, her counterparts, Mrs. Ini Okon, Okobo, Mrs. Edidiong Okponung, Udung Uko, and Mrs. Joy Esin, Oron, in appreciation thanked Mrs. Emmanuel for coming to their  respective domain to donate to the women, praying that God bless her. They also pledge their support to the Governor and wife.

Goodwill messages from Oro political heavyweights such as former minister for lands and Housing, Mrs. Akon Eyakenyie, former member House of Representative, Hon Esio Okwong Udo, commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Victor Antai, deputy speaker AKHA, Hon. Effiong Bassey, transition chairman Oron local government, Hon Orman Essin, his Udung Uko counterpart, Hon. Godwin Okponung all declared their solidarity and support to the Government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel pointing out that Oro nation stand to benefit immensely from his administration
