Royal fathers salute Akwa Ibom at 28
Royal Fathers in the state under the umbrella of Ekpuk (Family) Heads Association have rejoiced with the government and people of the state on the 28th anniversary of the state creation. 
 
Speaking with journalists at Chief Godswill Akpabio International Stadium during the official launching of the “Dakkada Initiative”, the State Chairman of the Association, Otuekong Sunday Umoh (JP), described the launching of the “Dakkada Initiative” as timely and a welcome development which will encourage Akwa Ibom people to rise up and not to be lazy.
 
Otuekong Umoh commended the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his vision to industrialize the state, stressing that his achievements within his first 100 days in office have vindicated the people of Akwa Ibom State on the choice of Mr. Udom Emmanuel is their Governor.

The royal father assured the State Governor that “Ke Mbong Ekpuk ke Akwa Ibom State edakka-eda” and are ready to work with him and support him with prayers to succeed.
 
He also lauded the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo for supporting the Governor to succeed in the task of industrializing the state. The Chairman appealed to the State Governor to carry the Family Heads along in his administration. 
 
Otuekong Umoh used the occasion to congratulate the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai on the occasion of the successful swearing in of the new Chairman of Akwa Ibom Supreme Council of Chiefs.
 
The royal father also saluted the out-gone Chairman of the Supreme Council of Chief and Paramount Ruler of Uyo, Edidem Silas Akpan on the successful completion of his tenure and congratulated the new Chairman and Paramount Ruler of Ibeno, Chief Effiong Achanga on his inauguration as the 28th Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs. 
 
He prayed God to give the new Chairman wisdom and good health to lead the Council in the right direction.
 
The Chairman Ekpuk Family Heads Association expressed the hope that since the Governor has risen up (Dakkada), he will see Mbong Ekuk and remember them in his affairs and assured the State Chief Executive of the unflinching support to his administration. 
 
Otuekong Umoh thanked God for sparing the life of the immediate past Governor and Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Chief Godswill Akpabio and commended him for coming back home to join in celebrating Akwa Ibom 28th anniversary.
 
The royal father prayed God to continue to guide, protect and give him more wisdom to discharge his duties as the Senate Minority Leader.
