As part of their effort to key into the   State government’s entrepreneurship drive aimed at engaging the youths to be productive and coupled with the new philosophy of DAKKADA in the State, Dr. Akpan Ekwere and Mr. Ebong Ekwere, have launched a book title “Contemporary entrepreneurship development of wealth creation for junior and senior secondary schools and contemporary entrepreneurships development for wealth creation” – A practical approach.
 
Speaking at the book launch, the author Dr. Ekwere described his mission for the writing of the book as a born out of his personnel experience as a entrepreneur for many years, he said that it has always been in his mind to assist the youth to get out of the streets and be engaged in meaningful ventured.
 
Dr. Ekwere is a solar, enterprise of many companies, the rector of PAN Africa polytechnic, Uyo, a philanthropist, a man who has trained thousand of student on entrepreneurship skills. The author in his address said it is his conviction that our youths need entrepreneurship skills in other to be able to key into the visions and programme of the present administration of Deacon Udom Emmanuel the Governor. He said the book is indeed a catalyst to wealth creation and he believes that the youths and the general public will find it very useful to start a new economic life.  He further explained that our secondary schools in the state will equally benefit from this book, since our young ones need early exposure to skills that will mould them to become better citizens to themselves and the society. He stated that this book is equally in response to the call by his Excellency the governor as encapsulated by the “DAKKADA initiative” to the good people of the state to rise up to greatness as recently launched.
 
He promised to hold a seminar/workshop at PAN African polytechnic main campus along Airport road where about 30 secondary school principals and entrepreneurship teachers will be invited, at the workshop 10 copies of the book will be given to each schools and it will be donated to schools free of charge. He said “This is my humble contribution and support to this administration in the area of education. He thanked His Excellency and wife for all the recorded success in the state within four months; he extended his gratitude to Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, the commissioner for works Akwa Ibom state and many others.
 
Reviewing the book, Prof. Ntiedo Umoren Dean Faculty of Business Administration, University of Uyo said the book is driving force for development regardless of place and culture. Prof. Umoren said the book should be more of an instrument for the illumination and liberation of the mind rather than a step by step guide to setting out business. He described the book as a great book for intended audience, well articulated coherent and full of integrity, which deals with the mechanic of the entrepreneurial pursuit.
 
Reviewing the book, he said the book has 359 pages, and the book is a requirement of this generation, he thanked the author Dr. Ekwere and Ubongabasi Ekwere for taking time to write this book.
 
Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion Dr. Emmanuel Umana, chairman NIM, Uyo branch thanked Dr. Ekwere and his son Ubongabasi for thinking wise to produce this book; he noted that the book will be a guide to acquire skills.
He congratulated and welcomed all guests and urged them to ensure that the book is well launched and everybody should take advantage of ensuring that they read the book, noting that the book will impact a lot of skills in our lives.
Hon. Emmanuel Enoidem, Commissioner Ministry of investments commerce and industry represented by Deacon Affiong Okpoh the permanent secretary of the ministry said the book is worthy of emulation in introducing to the youth in the time of Dakkada initiative.
 
Deacon Okpoh encouraged the youths to use the book and impact knowledge. She described the author of the book as a great man who has strived to ensure that our youths rise up to greatness. 
 
Deacon Okpoh who was also representing His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel said the Governor is in support of the book and promise to reach out to the author.
