Clergy wants Buhari to extend anti corruption war to APC members

Clergy wants Buhari to extend anti corruption war to APC members
The Founder and  President of Uma  Ukpai Evangelical Ministry, Rev. Uma Ukpai has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to extend his anti corruption war to his party members, All Progressive Congress (APC).

Ukpai made the call while interacting with some media professionals in Uyo on Friday, alleging that only PDP members had been accused of corruption.
He noted that since the present administration started its anti corruption war, no member of the APC had been brought to justice yet.

“As I speak I have not heard government of the day saying anything against APC members. Is it true that all APC members are all angles?, the answer is no, most APC members are ex-PDP members.
“To me, they are the worse side of the same coin but we are watching with our eyes opens.
“We are on our knees praying that God will have mercy on ordinary people of Nigeria,’’ he said.

He, however, said that the war against corruption would not be won in a country where about 99.9 per cent of the people were poor.

“If you are going to fight corruption, the starting point is knowledge and enough money for everyone to be honourable might give a push to the fight.
“A situation where there are so many unemployed persons who are penny less, to fight corruption is like building a castle in the air.

“I have been hearing about war against corruption but I have not seen anything to show, it is therefore too early to express an opinion on its progress and judge the effort of the war against corruption.

“From my point of view war against corruption has not started. As I speak now there is nothing to show that war against corruption has started,’’ Upai said.
The Clergyman said that Buhari needs leaders that are teachable, accountable, knowledgeable and people who are ready to serve the country to be minister’s to enable the party to deliver on its electoral promises.

He declared that Nigeria lacked servant leaders that have plans to serve the country, saying that Nigeria needs leaders with a vision and mission.

“We have had too many leaders who had no plans to serve us, they had dreams and desires to boss over us. Nigeria is looking for servant leaders that know and understand the issues of development in a third world country.
“Many of our leaders do not know what the issues are and any man who does not know what the questions are cannot pass the examination.

“We need leaders who knows what the questions are, knows our pains, knows our frustrations and know the confusion in Nigeria,’’ Ukpai said.
He advised President Buhari to work with men who are accountable to God and to themselves and his employers, saying that those are men Nigerians are longing for.

“We don’t have many of them in Nigeria. The culture of our society promotes men who are self centered, selfish, uncaring and unfeeling.
“Nigerians don’t have courage of their conviction, Nigerians are the greatest investors of excuses under the sun, and a man of excuse is a man of failure,’’ he said.

Ukpai explained that the economy of a nation was determined by the fertility of the land.

He enjoined Nigerians to pray and fast for the progress of the nation and advised men to make peace with God.
