APC to empower 3100 A’Ibom Youths through Entrepreneurial Skills

Comrade Monday Akpan
Not less than 3100 Akwa Ibom Youths will benefit from the All Progressive Congress, APC National Youth Vanguard’s Skill Acquisition Programme, billed to commence in August, 2015. The Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the organization, Comrade Monday Akpan who disclosed this recently in Uyo, said the programme was part of APC National Youth Vanguard’s project geared towards massive empowerment of the youths in order to produce “a self-reliant generation.”

Comrade Akpan who urged the youths to take advantage of the programmme which will also incorporate hotel management and catering services, said his organization has already finalized arrangements with two reputable firms, namely, La Plage Services, Abuja, and Raje concept and library, a subsidiary of Taje Enterprise based in Lagos for the training of youths in hotel management/catering service and small scale businesses, respectively.
He further stated that his organization, apart from embarking on the skill acquisition programme, has initiated other projects that will encourage the youths in pursuit of their academic programme.
The youth leader who frowned at the attitude of most Nigerian politicians whom he said were “only interested in using the youths as thugs during electioneering period and thereafter dump them”, expressed his organization’s readiness to serve as the platform for the realization of the youths’ ambition in their quest to contribute their own quota to societal growth and development.
While advocating massive involvement of the youths in governance, Comrade Akpan expressed optimism that the President Buhari-led administration will create avenues for youths’ participation in government, pointing out that it was only through such arrangement that Nigeria could lay solid foundation for her future.
He however, lauded the President in his unrelentless effort at recovering stolen public funds stacked in foreign banks by some corrupt Nigerian officials, stressing that such funds when finally retrieved, would enable the administration to provide the much needed basic services for Nigerians.
Comrade Akpan appealed to privileged Nigerians in public service to always consider their presence in government as a call to service, rather than avenue to amass wealth.
Commenting on the rising influence of the APC and Accord Party in Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Akpan maintained, “the truth of the matter is that we have one mind and we share common aspiration of changing the circumstances of our people for the better, and it is divinely arranged”, he opined.
He advised Akwa Ibom youths to shun negative behaviours and embrace positive change that the current APC led government under President Muhammadu Buhari offers Nigerians.
