The Peoples Democratic  Party governorship  candidate in Akwa Ibom State Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has reiterated his desire to govern the state with the fear of God if elected into office as the next Governor of the state, and to harness his connections in the international business community to create wealth for the state.

Udom gave the assurances Thursday evening when he had a special interactive session with the entire youths of Uyo catholic diocese at St Joseph’s catholic church, Ifiayong Usuk in Uruan local government area.
The PDP standard bearer noted that he is an ambassador of the Christian community in the state and will not go below the standards prescribed by the Lord Jesus in the discharge of his obligations and responsibilities as Governor from May 29.
Udom pledged that his administration will roll out plans that are targeted at massive job creation and gainful employments for the youths of the state.
“God did not give me all the connections to pay my children’s school fees alone, he did not bless me with all the experiences for me to cater for the needs of my family alone, but I believe it was for the purpose of harnessing it to serve the needs of our people,” Mr Emmanuel said.

Quoting several scriptural passages, he charged the youths to live exemplary lives and to always stand by the truth in taking decisions about their state and the future.

He reminded them that as a young and educated person, President Goodluck Jonathan deserved their support because he had the interest of youths and was on course to transforming the country after over 50 years of monumental decay occasioned by poor leadership.

Udom, who was accompanied to the session by his running mate Moses Ekpo, Director General of his campaigns, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, the State ALGON chairman, Obong Nse Ntuen, the Eket Senatorial Candidate, Chief Nelson Effiong,  the state TAN coordinator, Engr Ufot Ebong, BOT Chairman of Transformation Initiative, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang and several other dignitaries advised the youths to discountenance malicious and false stories written about him in the local tabloids which he dismissed as a mixture of propaganda and falsehood by desperate politicians.

He charged the catholic youths to stand out and be counted as one of the formidable organizations who identified a great leader and voted him into power.

Udom donated an evangelism bus to the organization and charged them to use it effectively for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In his welcome remarks, the Diocesian President of the Catholic Youths Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Mr Iberedem Hilary thanked the PDP candidate for the swift response to the invitation.

He noted that it was the first time in history that a governorship candidate will agree to an interactive session with catholic youths in the state and appreciated Mr Udom Emmanuel for the peaceful and mature way he has been prosecuting his campaigns adding that the youths of the catholic church can only support a candidate who is able to marshal out programmes that can create employment and generate wealth in the state.

The event featured an interactive session where the governorship hopeful took out time to explain his numerous plans for the youths and the state as a whole.

Goodwill messages were also received from the National President of CYON, Mr Charles Ekpe, Rev Fr Patrick Udotai and the host Rev Fr. Cletus Ubon Etim.
