“I will ensure uninterrupted power supply within six months – AD Gubernatorial Candidate, Akwa Ibom

The Gubernatorial  Candidate of Alliance for Democracy in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Samuel Attang has vowed to ensure uninterrupted Power Supply within the first six months if voted into office.

The erudite Politician made this and other issues known during an interactive session with newsmen in his residence in Eket on Wednesday.

He said the dream of Akwa Ibom State has been destroyed over the past 16 years through retrogressive activities such as kidnappings, corruption, squandamania, tribal bigotry and Politician Cultism, adding that its time for Akwa Ibom State people to rise up and protect their destiny and future generation by using their votes wisely during the forth – coming gubernatorial election.
“It is very annoying to see these who participated in the squandamania of our common resources now parading the political landscape of the State using the resources they amassed illegally to promote themselves to go back to Government House,’’ Obong Attang said, pointing out that we deserve a break.
The Atta of Ekid blamed past leaders of the State and their collaborators for aiding in the shutting down of industries that were established by Late Dr. Clement Isong, adding that some of those angling for power do have the interest of the people at heart except the mere seeking of personal gains and self glorification.

He mentioned his agenda to include Free Education at all levels, gainful employment, industrialization, effective Health Care, prompt payment of Salaries & Pension and security to life and prosperity.

On gainful employment, Obong Attang said he will without delay resuscitate ailing industries and as well  establish more while curbing corruption and other vices which has over the years induced poverty.

Obong Attang who is popularly known as the “Peoples Governor” called on the electoriate to vote for him under the Alliance for Democracy (AD) Party in the forth-coming gubernatorial election in the State as he was sure of giving the people a new lease of life and a break from the ugly past of waste, corruption, capital flight and poverty.

He said “I will enact the feat that was done by Chief (Gen) U. J. Esuene who presided over the affairs of old Cross River State and established University of Calabar, Polytechnic of Calabar, U. J. Esuene Stadium, Plasto Crown Industry, Merchantile Bank, Investment Trust, Icon Merchant Bank, Asbestonite Industry, Manila Insurance, College of Education Uyo, Metropolitan Hotels, Calabar Teaching Hospital and constructed Calabar Itu Road”.

Succinctly put, Obong Attang said he will activate the floating of industries for gainful employment and will make sure that the unity of the State is guaranteed.
