Mkpat Enin Council Boss declares for House of Assembly seat

It was a celebration of some sort on Friday 17th October 2014, as the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Honourable Ephraim Akpan gathered the people of the area in his residence at Nyadiong, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area to openly declare his intention to represent Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly come 2015.  The colourful event that witnessed a large turn out by the people and supporters of the award winning chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, honourable Ephraim Akpan; marked the official inauguration of the Central Working Committee/Ward Coordinators of his Campaign Organization.

In his speech, the State House of Assembly hopeful, who is also the Executive chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, used the occasion to thank the people for coming out in such a wonderful number to declare their supports and solidarity for his aspiration. Mr. Akpan seized the opportunity of his declaration to brief the people of the achievements of his administration in the past two years to include: the construction of Oil and Gas Academy, construction of bridge, training of forty youths in specialized skills, free medical surgery, payment of monthly allowances to some youths and several other empowerment programmes. 


He declared that he is aspiring to represent Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the State House of Assembly as a “competent and trusted” politician in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area and announced his readiness to pick up the nomination form and called on Mkpat Enin people to come out and witness as he picks up the form in readiness to represent his people.

In an oath of office taken by the elected committee members, they promised to be faithful and bear true allegiance to honourable Ephraim Akpan’s political campaign organization.

Responding, the political leader of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Ekong Mecks Umoh commended the council boss for his performance and acknowledging that power belongs to God and charged Mkpat Enin people not to bring violence into politics.  He promised to be at the chairman’s beck and call for any political advice.

In a show of solidarity, the youths of Mkpat Enin enumerated  the chairman’s developmental strides, saying that he has performed beyond his four points agenda upon assumption of office; and capped it all with a motion to support the chairman to clinch the 2015 seat of Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in 2015.

The event culminated in an inspection tour to the Oil and Gas Academy under construction by the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, honourable Ephraim Akpan.
