Birthday: Enoidem prays for Akpabio’s opposition
As Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem turns 50, Sunday, 27th July, 2014, he has told newsmen that his 50th birthday is special as compared to other years.

In a telephone chat last Saturday, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties while thanking God for sustaining his life throughout the past 50 years said though he is not kin to celebrating birthdays, the uniqueness of the 50th anniversary has forced him to invite all his friends, family members, political associates and his well wishers for a special thanksgiving to mark his attainment of the golden age.

On what makes his 50th anniversary unique, Enoidem said it is because the birthday falls on a Sunday being a day Christians usually gather to worship God.
His words: “It is by the grace of God that I have lived up to the age of 50 and when I flashback on my past years, I do conclude that I can only be where I am today because I have a special favour from God, it is worth celebrating. I don’t usually celebrate my birthdays but I am celebrating this particular one not because it is the golden birthday, but because it falls on a Sunday, a holy day in the Christendom. So it therefore appears mandatory that I have to go to church with my family, friends and colleagues to thank God for his love for me.”

When asked the secret behind his outstanding achievement for the number of years so far spent, he said it is purely God’s benevolence, adding that while reminiscing, he discovered that God is constantly working in his life and has made him who he is today.

While acknowledging dozens of goodwill and birthday wishes pouring in from within and outside the state, Enoidem who is one of the Akpabio’s longest serving Commissioners expressed happiness for the love and support given to him from far and near, saying that he is humbled to know that the people of Akwa Ibom State love him that much.

“I am thrilled by the level of love, support and encouragement given to me by the people of Akwa Ibom State and even those outside the state. It shows that I have friends all over Nigeria who are silently watching, treasuring and appreciating my contribution to the development of both the state through the Uncommon Transformation train of Governor Godswill Akpabio and humanity in general,” Enoidem stated.

He prayed for long life and more opportunity to serve humanity even as he urged Nigerians and indeed Akwa Ibom People to embrace peace, love and oneness in order to sustain hospitability and co-existence in the state.

In the spirit of the golden age celebration, Enoidem, while warning politicians in the state not to allow their selfish interest to disrupt peace and harmony in Akwa Ibom, prayed that God should change the heart and understanding of those who are bent on criticizing the Akpabio led government destructively.
