72 people-oriented projects inaugurated in Abak Federal Constituency

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio over the week inaugurated  more than 70 rural development projects in Ika, Etim Ekpo ,and Abak  LGAs  during his meet- the - people tour of Abak federal constituency.

Among the projects inaugurated were brand new and reconstructed classroom blocks ,Assembly Halls, Administrative office blocks, sets of bungalows for School Principals, staff quarters ,technical workshops, science laboratories, and examination halls. Others were open market stalls, women development centre,and solar powered water schemes.

Commissioning the structures at St. Johns Catholic school, Ikot Akpan Okure, Ika, St Paul’s Catholic school, Utu Ikot imonte in Etim Ekpo, and Comprehensive Secondary school ,Midim, Abak to represent other projects already billed for this season, amid jubilation by staff ,students and members of the communities, Governor Akpabio stated that his administration is sensitive to the well being of the people which informed the  spread of basic infrastructure in both urban and rural areas of the state for life enhancement .


He appreciated the show of love and solidarity exhibited by staff and students of the benefiting schools, and prayed God to crown their efforts with successes.
Governor Akpabio congratulated the Interministerial crew for prompt delivery of quality projects that will stand the test of time and charged the benefiting schools to make judicious use of the facilities provided for them.

The member representing Abak federal constituency at the National Assembly,Hon Emmanuel Ekon, Etim Ekpo /Ika state  Constituency Representative ,Hon. Gabriel Toby, and his counterpart in Abak,Hon Friday Iwok in their separate remarks ,lauded Governor Akpabio for redefining Good Governance in Nigeria through his infrastructural revolution which has made Akwa Ibom stand tall among the comity of  states in Nigeria.

They particularly appreciated him for addressing the infrastructural laxity such as deplorable roads  which had hitherto plagued the area,and prayed God to reward him abundantly.

Speaking on behalf of the Head Teachers, the Principal of Comprehensive Secondary school, Midim, Mr Goodday Udoidiong ,who described Governor Akpabio as the Star of our Generation, thanked him for repositioning the educational  system in the state by  making education free and for also deployment of more Teachers to meet up with the influx of school children.

Mr. Udoidiong also expressed gratitude for the extension of uncommon transformation to the school which was an eyesore, adding that the replacement of  dilapidated structures with modern facilities has not only boosted their morale but has  created good learning environment ,and solicited for perimeter fence for security of the school which Governor Akpabio granted.

This brings to 439 the total number of Interministerial interventions in Abak Federal Constituency outside the ongoing ones.
