Udohedehe registers with APC …says Party will take over AKS in 2015

Senator John James Akpan-Udoedehe on Thursday 6th January, 2014, with his wife was registered at Afaha Offot Primary School, Uyo Ward 6 in the ongoing APC membership registration which began on Wednesday across the country.

In a chat with the media after the registration, the governorship candidate in the defunct ACN in the 2011 general elections in the State, and a former Senator of the Federal Republic called on the people who love change to come out en-masse to register with APC adding that APC is coming to change things in the State. According to him, “we are coming to change Akwa Ibom State and Akwa Ibom people are ready for the change.

We won the last time and the very institution that was supposed to protect the people betrayed the people of Akwa Ibom State, but this time it is not going to be business as usual as the people are ready to defend their rights”.

He said that with the registration, the party has just taken off officially in the State and stated that henceforth, parties in the merger agreement have become defunct. He also said that the registration exercise is a continuous process while he called on the people to be strong and defiant. “You need to fight for your generations unborn, so don’t sell your conscience now. The best man in the society is not the wealthiest, but the man with character and virtue who fights for the truth and what it stands for”.

Earlier on Monday 3rd, at the sensitization rally held at Sliverspring Accomodation along Obio Imo Street, Senator Udoedehe had told the people that APC has come to bring the desired change in the State, urging them to shun divisive tendencies and come together to form a formidable force in order to take over the country and the State. He stated emphatically that APC will win Nigeria and the State and will take over the government”. He also said that the present government in the State is a lying one which thrives on lies and deceit, adding that the coming of APC will move PDP back to be the opposition party it used to be formerly.

Also speaking at the sensitization rally, Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong, an House of Representatives member of the defunct ACN noted that progressives in the House of Reps, after observing that the democrats cannot deliver democracy dividends to the people are now moving en-masse to APC where they are sure of people who are willing to implement policies that will impact positively on the masses.

He said he is happy to be one of the original progressives in the House and that he is sure APC will win Akwa Ibom State in the forthcoming general elections because the PDP government in the State has deceived the people for too long.
Hon. Ekpenyong however added that there is the policy of inclusion in APC where everyone is given a sense of belonging and therefore urged the people of the State to get registered with the party during the registration exercise, adding that APC is ready to accommodate decampees from PDP “even if the State Governor himself wants to come in, we will accept him, after all Atiku Abubakar is now accommodated by APC,” he boasted.

Obong Kufre Inyangete, a chieftain of the defunct ACN in the State, and the moderator of the sensitization rally said that the party has already started work by collecting names of intending members. He described the ongoing exercise as “a silent revolution” and called on all and sundry to get registered before it is too late, stating that the registration is free.
