…visits Special Children’s Home on Valentine Day

A front line socio-Political organization in Akwa Ibom State, the Progressive Akwa People Assembly (PAPA) has lauded the developmental strides of the Governor Godswill Akpabio’s administration in the past six and half years and further charged that as the 2015 general elections beckons, the choice of a successor must be a person whose vision and ideology for the state meets the acceptance of the people

According to the Director-General of PAPA, Honourable Obot James who spoke with newsmen in Uyo at the close of a stakeholders meeting of the organization, the exemplary leadership qualities of the administration of Governor Akpabio has made the state a choice of destination in the country. He therefore urged the political class to ensure that the emergence of a successor for 2015 would surpass the existing set-standards especially as Akwa Ibom State opens up to economic frontiers with the industrialization programmes laid down.

Hon Obot James further commended the nation’s President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the laudable achievements of his administration’s Transformation Agenda, the giant strides of the ruling party, PDP and re-affirmed PAPA’s overwhelming support for his re-election bid while acknowledging the emergence of Alhaji Ahmed Mu’azu as the Chairman of the party whose coming he said will re-position the party.

PAPA urged Nigerians to remain united emphasizing that the scheduled National Conference would be a great platform for all the ethnic nationalities, states, groups and bodies to chart a lasting legacy for the future of the country.

PAPA further urged that nominees from Akwa Ibom State at the National Conference should ensure that the core areas of neglect in the state are duly addressed even as they cautioned politicians not to pursue selfish interests in the general elections but seek the overall interests and growth of all.
Also, the Progressive Akwa People Assembly (PAPA) in the spirit of the Valentine Season last Friday visited and donated food items and other materials worth Hundreds of Thousands to the Orphanage Home along IBB Avenue, Uyo.

He further said that the season calls for affection and commended the matron for making the kids have a future.

He promised that the visit of PAPA to the Children’s Home will be regular and will spread to other senatorial districts in the state.
