A group in Annang land, Annang Peoples Assembly has thrown their weight of support behind Prince Ukpong Akpabio, urging him to contest the House of Assembly seat for Essien Udim State constituency while assuring him of their support that will translate to his victory.

The group made their position known yesterday after their meeting at Abak Local Government Area. The national President of the group, Obong Aniebiet Idiong informed THE INK reporter that the group has taken upon itself the duty of searching for credible persons in all the local Government Areas making up Annang body, identifying with them and urging them to run for offices that will be beneficial to them and the entire state.


While describing Prince Ukpong Akpabio as a good son of Annang land, it also posited that with persons like Prince Akpabio at the helm of political affairs, the people of the area will continue to swim in the ocean of good governance. The International President of Annang People’s Assembly stressed the need for the people of Annang to rally round their illustrious sons and daughters observing that, that way, they will be urged to do more for their people. He also called for prayers for the Governor whom he described as a well standing son of Akwa Ibom state who is on top of delivering democratic dividends to Akwa Ibom People.

Speaking on behalf of Annang People’s Assembly, Aniebiet Idiong described Prince Akpabio popularly known as Mega as a man of the people, a grass rooter and one who is always ready to change People’s lives positively. He maintained that, Annang People’s Assembly will lead the people of Essien Udim State constituency to Prince Akpabio and will prevail on him to contest the 2015 elections into the House of Assembly as the next member that will represent Essien Udim State constituency.
