The Paramount Ruler of Ibeno Local Government,
His Royal Majesty Owong (Dr.) Effiong B. Archianga has commended Governor
Godswill Akpabio for awarding contract for the construction of Eket/Ibeno Road.
Owong (Dr.) Effiong Archianga made the
commendation last week during a press briefing with journalist in his palace,
in Ibeno Local Government. Dr. Effiong Archianga who expressed satisfaction on
the performance of Governor Godswill Akpabio since his assumption of office,
said many governors had come and gone that no one has ever taught of awarding
the contract of Eket/Ibeno road for good transportation network as the oil
producing areas.
The Paramount Ruler who also commended
the Governor on Mkpanak, Okposo and Mbo Road, described Governor Godswill
Akpabio as a friend and a father to Ibeno people who always listen to their problem
and proffer adequate solution to their problems with delight.
Dr. Effiong Archianga who is also the
Udammung 1 of Ibenoland, said Governor Akpabio’s determination to construct
Eket/Ibeno Road is born out of the love he has for Ibeno people. Archianga who
expressed appreciation on the award of the contract unbehalf of himself and the
entire Ibeno traditional rulers council, seized the opportunity to caution
those who bent on planting unnecessary structure on the road side such as Toom
stone, illegal shops and other structures that have not been there for over two
years just for the purposes of demanding for unnecessary compensation from the
state government or the company handling the construction should desist from
such witchcrafty act which he said, is capable ruining the good gesture of
Governor Akpabio.
His words, “I will advise the company to pay, but if after 26th July, 2013 somebody
raise a structure even if the person is from Ibeno it should be demolished and
the perpetrators apprehended by Law Enforcement Agency to serve as deterrent to
others because those are witch-crafty to the government who does not want this
state to be developed.
”
The Paramount Ruler while also advising
the youths of the local government areas to support the government of Governor
Akpabio and the company handling the road construction, instead of unnecessary
demand for compensation, called on Akwa Ibom people to support the government
of Governor Godswill Akpabio for more development.
